RIO Grit - shells 520g
Along with the main food, birds must be constantly supplied with grit due to their digestive system. Organic and inorganic ingredients help grind hard seeds in the bird's stomach and serve as an additional source of calcium, phosphorus, sodium and other mineral substances.
Coquina is the crushed marine shell and represents an important source of calcium, phosphorus, sodium and other minerals. Coquina dissolves in the acidic environment of the stomach; the obtained mineral salts can be easily absorbed into the bird's body. Coquina is especially needed during the nesting period to build strong eggshells and to maintain healthy bones and beaks in chicks and adult birds.
Limestone is obtained by grinding and subsequently drying the mineral calcite. Limestone is rich in substances that support the water-salt balance and lead to better growth of the bone tissue.
Red stone ensures the correct functioning of the digestive tract in birds. Regular consumption of redstone leads to firmer stools.
Ground Cambrian clay is necessary to remove toxic substances that can accumulate in the bird's body. Furthermore, clay contains minerals, organic substances, iron oxides and other beneficial nutrients.
Grated cedar nut shell contains a number of micro and macro nutrients. Furthermore, the shell has adsorbing activity.
Charcoal regulates the acidity in the birds' stomachs; its consumption helps to prevent gastrointestinal diseases. Due to its high porosity, charcoal is able to remove toxic substances from the body.
