Royal Canin Mini Puppy puppy food is a complete food for all dog breeds with an adult weight of 4-10 kg. It is used when the puppy is weaned after approx. 8 weeks and up to 10 months of age. After that, we recommend that you switch to Royal Canin Mini Adult, which has been developed for the energy needs of adult dogs, once the puppy has grown.
Puppies need more nutrition than adult dogs as they are in full growth and development. In fact, puppies need 50% more nutrition than adult dogs. Small dog breeds easily deposit fatty tissue and gain weight quickly. This feed therefore contains all the important and specific nutrients, minerals, vitamins, etc., which are necessary for a good start to a long and healthy life. High energy and protein content supports the puppy's nutritional needs during the short and intense growth period, without the puppy growing too fast.
Some dogs, especially among the small breeds, live exclusively in the city and preferably indoors. The risk of obesity in these dogs must be taken particularly seriously. They have little opportunity to use their energy and often the owner is tempted to "pamper" his animal all day long, which can result in nutritional imbalances. Mannan-oligo-saccharides also strengthen the intestinal immune system. Dietary fiber nourishes an optimal intestinal flora.
The food kibbles are adapted to the jaws and teeth of small dogs, so they are easy for the puppy to grab. The dentition of small dogs is more compact than that of large dogs, and therefore more bacteria and food residues accumulate, which can form coatings on the tooth surface and develop plaque. The fodder's design and content of sodium polyphosphates, omega 6 fatty acids and vitamin A help to prevent this.
