Royal Canin Shih Tzu Adult is a complete food for adult dogs from the age of 10 months. The feed contains all the important nutrients, vitamins and minerals that are needed to form the basis for a long and healthy life.
Shih Tzu can be loosely translated as: A Tibetan married to a Chinese. They were originally precious little temple dogs that the Tibetans sent to the Chinese court. The Shih Tzu appeared in England and Norway in the 1930s under the name Tibetan Lion Dog, but was quickly changed to the current Shih Tzu. The breed is sociable, friendly, lively and loves to play. It is devoted and friendly towards family, strangers and other dogs. A perfect family dog, suitable both for active families and elderly people with a quiet daily life, and it forms close bonds with them.
The Shih Tzu is known for its luxurious coat. The fur is long and dense with a thick undercoat and often it will get in the eyes if it is not tied up. It should preferably be brushed every day and it requires frequent baths and blow-drying. Especially the fur for puppies can be time-consuming. Shih Tzu Adult supports the skin's barrier function (exclusive complex), keeps the skin healthy (EPA & DHA, vitamin A) and nourishes the coat. Also has a high content of borage oil.
Shih Tzus are a breed predisposed to an upset stomach. Therefore, the feed is enriched with dietary fibre, easily digestible proteins, rice, FOS and an EPA/DHA complex, which minimizes the amount of undigested food residues and thus also reduces the bad smell in the faeces.
A specially developed food pellet for the short head shape and with a special consistency makes it easier for the dog to pick up the food and encourages it to chew it.
