JUWEL Phorax is a biological and highly efficient filter medium that breaks down phosphate in your aquarium. When the phosphate disappears from the aquarium, the growth of algae slows down and the plants get better growing conditions.

Phorax consists of an aluminum mineral which binds the dissolved phosphate by creating non-water-soluble aluminum phosphate, which can thus be removed from the water. JUWEL Phorax is highly effective and binds up to 12 mg of phosphate per gram of Phorax.

JUWEL Phorax can be used in both salt and fresh water.

We recommend that you change the Phorax filter materials every two weeks for optimal effect.
