Warnings and precautions: As with all long-acting topical products, seasonal shedding may lead to a transient, minor reduction in efficacy due to loss of active substance bound in the coat. New distribution from the collar occurs immediately so that full effect will be re-established without further treatment or changing of the collar. The collar is water resistant and works even if the animal gets wet. However, the animal should not be exposed to large amounts of water for a long time or frequent washing, as the effect time can thus be reduced. Pets wearing the collar should not be allowed to sleep with their owners, especially children. In very rare cases, the collar can cause irritation to the skin, eyes and respiratory tract of certain people. In case of eye irritation, rinse eyes thoroughly with cold water. These cases are rare in dogs and uncommon in cats and recovery is usually seen within one to two weeks. In some cases, it may be advisable to temporarily remove the collar until the symptoms have disappeared.
