The green-lipped mussel (Perna canaliculus) originates from New Zealand and is particularly known for its high content of omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA). The mussel is also a natural source of glucosamine, chondroitin, zinc and magnesium and also contains glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) and eicosatetraenoic acid (ETA).
